Using Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop Elegrity designed a virtual desktop remote access solution that allowed the offshore developers to access the development tools and environments they needed without any need for copying data to servers or workstations in India. All of the development was done ‘locally’ in a virtualized sense within the firm’s headquarters and our client was able to ensure all of their intellectual property was being stored securely in their source control systems.
Operational and Executive Reporting Solution for Life Sciences Service Provider
Elegrity was responsible for establishing a reporting infrastructure and developing a variety of management reports against the company’s case management system. The reports focused on operational performance to proactively identify bottlenecks, issues and simply patterns relating to cases across various programs.
Information Security Portal
Elegrity developed a portal for the Information Security department of a multi-billion dollar online retailer.
The portal incorporated workflow, where business users could submit questions or concerns, as well as a fully built-out portal of information for all aspects of this large, global organization's information security.
In addition, Elegrity developed custom web services that automatically synchronized the organization's information security policies whenever they were added or modified (and noted as 'finalized) in the company's central policy repository, which resided outside of SharePoint. In this way, the organization's published policies were communicated to business users immediately upon their approval, as a natural and automated part of the organization's policy workflow.
M&A Risk Assessment Framework for Information Security at Large Online Retailer
How to marry information security considerations into the organization's overall M&A Strategy was the challenged posed to Elegrity business process re-engineering consultants by a multibillion dollar online retailer. Elegrity worked with the organization's corporate M&A team, corporate Information Technology team, and corporate Information Security team to understand current processes, concerns and process gaps. Then, Elegrity consultants adapted industry best practice risk management and assessment frameworks to develop a comprehensive, customized strategic and tactical (implementable) business process that injected much-needed Information Security considerations into the company's overall M&A business processes. The engagement included a comprehensive set of deliverables that are leveraged by information security and M&A team members during any M&A (or divestiture) activity.
Exchange 2007 and Archival Implementation

This fast-growing, fast-paced biopharmaceutical company was struggling with Outlook email performance issues, while at the same time running to try to catch up to the rate of growth they were experiencing within their Exchange message stores.
Elegrity architected and designed an Exchange 2007 environment that provided the firm several needed elements: 1) Complete elimination of the Outlook email performance issues; 2) centralized storage to house the growing message stores and databases; 3) a robust email archival solution to combat the ever-increasing email growth rates; and 4) a disaster recovery mechanism the organization could use in case of a total loss of their Exchange messaging systems.

Portal Application Delivery
A large national law firm had the initiative of providing all information and access via a single corporate portal. In addition, the access had to be ‘intelligent’; in other words, the user had to be delivered the right applications via the right mechanism at the right time, depending on whom they were AND where they were (in the office; out of the office; at a satellite office, etc.). The firm recognized that direct integration of applications within the portal framework would be an extensive undertaking, with an exorbitant amount of expense. The firm turned to Elegrity for its application delivery expertise to help define a strategy to deliver the desired functionality by leveraging the firm’s current investment in Citrix (9 Citrix Farms).
Elegrity extensively extended the out-of-the-box Citrix Web Interface technology to deliver applications to the user in a location-aware fashion while at the same time extending the out-of-the-box Citrix security infrastructure to both facilitate and control user access. In addition, the Elegrity customized web interface intelligently delivered the user application either via a Citrix Published Application OR from their local desktop machine, depending on the ‘right’ delivery mechanism to deliver the best possible user experience for the specific user access scenario.
Application Delivery and Centralization for validated systems
Customer was a fast-growing corporation with FDA validation concerns for various applications. Specifically, they were concerned about how to ensure ongoing validation requirements were met even though the applications would need to now be delivered internationally.
Elegrity designed a secure, validated instance of a Citrix XenApp farm that was leveraged to provide centralized, secure access to scientific and other validated applications. Using Citrix XenApp our customer was able to comply with FDA regulations and greatly reduce their validation costs.
As the client grew internationally, there were many security concerns around deploying IT infrastructure to offices outside of their national headquarters. Using a Citrix XenApp farm designed by Elegrity the corporation retained all of their core infrastructure systems in their national headquarters and used thin client access from their growing international office to gain access to core systems and applications.
Application Virtualization Leveraged for M&A Growth Strategy
A mid-size, regional law firm had the vision of becoming a large firm with a national presence in a relatively short period of time. The customer’s main strategy for growth and business diversification was through acquisition. The acquired firms had to be brought on-line and integrated with the firm’s corporate infrastructure in extremely tight timeframes (typically 30 days or less). The customer engaged Elegrity to provide a technology strategy aligned with the firm’s business strategy for integration of the new firms.
Due to the extremely tight timeframes Elegrity architected and designed and implemented a standardized methodology for provisioning full thin desktops to the users in the acquired firms leveraging Citrix XenApp and thin client technology. With minimal capital expenditures, and very little IT effort, the firm has successfully grown its business from the original 11 offices to over 27 offices in a very short timeframe.
In addition, using Citrix EdgeSight, the firm is now able to monitor usage trends, performance metrics, and can calculate when additional Citrix servers are needed to support the growing user load.
