A large national law firm had the initiative of providing all information and access via a single corporate portal. In addition, the access had to be ‘intelligent’; in other words, the user had to be delivered the right applications via the right mechanism at the right time, depending on whom they were AND where they were (in the office; out of the office; at a satellite office, etc.). The firm recognized that direct integration of applications within the portal framework would be an extensive undertaking, with an exorbitant amount of expense. The firm turned to Elegrity for its application delivery expertise to help define a strategy to deliver the desired functionality by leveraging the firm’s current investment in Citrix (9 Citrix Farms).

Elegrity extensively extended the out-of-the-box Citrix Web Interface technology to deliver applications to the user in a location-aware fashion while at the same time extending the out-of-the-box Citrix security infrastructure to both facilitate and control user access. In addition, the Elegrity customized web interface intelligently delivered the user application either via a Citrix Published Application OR from their local desktop machine, depending on the ‘right’ delivery mechanism to deliver the best possible user experience for the specific user access scenario.

National Law Firm works with Elegrity to rollout a new XENApp 5.0 Application Virtualization Infrastructure Nationwide.

Elegrity engineers leveraged our customer's pre-existing investments in Citrix technologies to deliver new virtualized applications nationwide to internal and external business users.  Not only is XENApp utilized for virtualizing application delivery to end-users, but application streaming to the XENApp servers themselves is utilized to streamline future application provisioning to the servers themselves.  In addition, all XENApp server environments are virtual machines themselves, lowering the firm's ongoing capital investments significantly.  This project builds upon Elegrity and the firm's 10+ year partnership surrounding application virtualization technology leveraging for true business value.

A mid-size, regional law firm had the vision of becoming a large firm with a national presence in a relatively short period of time.  The customer’s main strategy for growth and business diversification was through acquisition. The acquired firms had to be brought on-line and integrated with the firm’s corporate infrastructure in extremely tight timeframes (typically 30 days or less).  The customer engaged Elegrity to provide a technology strategy aligned with the firm’s business strategy for integration of the new firms.

 

In addition, using Citrix EdgeSight, the firm is now able to monitor usage trends, performance metrics, and can calculate when additional Citrix servers are needed to support the growing user load.
